These craft were developed by the Italian navy before WWII, and their stepped hulls and twin W-18 cylinder engines gave them speeds in excess of 45 knots. Built mainly for antisubmarine duty, they also carried two torpedoes in roll-off racks.

Notes:
Special thanks go to Mr. James Ewinger on his skilled creation of the master for this model, and the loan of his files and resources, which were used to produce this hull and drawings. A multi-stepped, hard-chine hull such as this was no casual undertaking.
