Based on a series of tugs built by the Great Lakes Towing Company between 1906 and 1916, this vintage workhorse is a perfect subject for the steam tugboat lover. Featuring the tall stack and jaunty upturned bow of the period, this is not your average harbor tug. Many of the original hulls, converted to diesel and given a modern superstructure, are still at work today. Developed in 1:48 scale, it's still very suitable for a standard radio control installation.

Notes:
We would like to offer special thanks to Mr. Thomas Federkiel, associated with the Sandusky Maritime Museum, for the generous donation of his time and resources toward the creation of this model, and for the loan of his personal records and photographs. Also, a somewhat belated thank you to Mr. Harry Archer, who researched and documented "Toledo" back in the 1970's. This data, only recently discovered, served to reinforce and fill information gaps.
